A fantastic floating bedroom, beautiful lofted living room, stunning two-story-high ceilings and wonderfully rusticated wood and brick accents … are the last thing you expect to find when visiting a hospital. No, the doctor is not in – this facility has been radically renovated into a spacious  apartment.
From light-colored hardwood floors up to a fully-furnished rooftop deck, there is little indication of what this building used to be. Exposed structural brickwork was also most definitely not part of the plan when this was once a highly-sanitized, white-painted set of spaces.
Unlike some creatively converted apartments or condos, this set of spaces does not (by necessity) preserve much of the original interior design character. Exposed structural elements, warmer materials, modernist touches and copious decor are all integrated to offset any remaining sense of a cold and sterile setting.
