They say ‘less is more’ … but with this multifunctional bathroom layout there is more truth to that statement than meets the eye. It looks modern, minimalist, devoid of decoration and free of furniture – but there is much that (literally) lies below the surface of this outwardly simple design idea.
When fully closed, the space serves as a recreation room or free-standing shower space with water that sprays from the ceiling. When opened up, the floor becomes a set of benches around a spa-worthy sunken bathtub with all of the extras.
All the while, a series of flat screens provides variable entertainment depending upon the activities taking place within the space. While still a visionary concept and not a concrete reality, this is how designer Michal Mitek sees the future of bathrooms ten years down the road – and really, there is nothing about this that is not already possible to build.
